I am now somewhat convinced that Kurnosov may very well have used a computer...for his pre-game preparation, which would have been absolutely legal in any tournament. That is the closest thing to reality, if Kurnosov does indeed used computer to defeat Mamedyarov. Nowadays, especially in top level competetions, battle is usually fought off the board even before two strong players could face each other. Many games had decided off the board. The Topalov-Kamsky match is still fresh to be forgotten. Just to think of our Wesley So who probably one of the best young talents out there who are well versed in computer pre-game preparation. So could sometimes blitz to his first 15 to 20 moves in under 3 minutes. Now is So then have to be considered a cheater? Talking 'bout my generation...
