There are reports that Manila already announced its interest to bring the 2018 Asian Games here in the country for the second time. Although these reports remains unconfirmed at this moment, I already read in local newspapers about the rumors that Manila is dead serious on its bid to host the 2018 Games. The last time Manila hosted the games was in 1954 where the Philippines finished second over all in medal standings behind power house Japan. I also remember that two years ago the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) aired its desired to staged the 2012 Chess Olympiad in Cebu but unfortunately, for no apparent reason, the proposed bidding didn't happen.
Manila 2018 anyone? To be honest...I like the idea ;)
