World Youth Under 16 Chess Olympiad Round 5 and 6: Russia grab the leads, Philippines tied from2nd to 3rd places

So in action, still showing no sign of fatigue and home sickness.


Top seed Russia crushed erstwhile leader of the tournament, Armenia 4-0 in the 6th round to grab the lead with a total of 17 1/2 points. Team Philippines meanwhile, drew their 5th round assignment with Armenia 2-2 before narrowly loosing to defending champion India in the 6th round 2 1/2 - 1 1/2 to remain tied in the second places with the Indians. Georgia, Armenia and England are sharing 4-6.places with 15.5 points. GM Wesley So demonstrates his mental toughness and showing no sign of fatigue from the grueling previous World Junior Chess Championship and staying long away from home by scoring 5 1/2 points out of 6 points.
