GM Wesley So drew his 12th round match with Azerbaijan GM Eltaj Safarli (2527) to remain in tied for 6-13th place in the standings with 8 points with one more round left to play. There are currently 3 players sharing the top spot going into the penultimate and final round with 9 points each, GM David Howell of England (2561), Indians GM Gupta Abhijeet (2551) and GM Negi Parimerjan (2529). Haridas Pascua (2174) on the other hand scored another victory this time against Mijovic Stefan (2289) of Mcedonia. Wesley's final opponent of the tournament is Vietnamese GM Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son (2579) and Haridas is set to battle FM Ronchetti Niccolo (2434). No matter what the outcome of Wesley's game today against Nguyen, he has already improved his 20th finish in last year's edition of the championship.
