3rd President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Cup international chess championship: Torre still perfect

Express report. GM Eugene Torre catches the biggest fish of the tournament by subduing Kazakhstan's super GM and top seed Murtas Kazhgaleyev (2641) after 73 moves of the Nimzo Indian to remain on top after 5 rounds. In other important matches, GM Mark Paragua and IM Julio Catalino Sadorra settled for a draw. GM So was held to a draw by the lower-rated Yunguo Wan of China to remain with only three points. Li Wang of China defeated No. 10 seed GM Susanto Megaranto of Indonesia. GM Villamayor bowed to No 9 seed GM Marat Dzumaev of Uzbekistan.
