Yahoo! GeoCities, farewell and thanks for the freebies!

GeoCities, a Yahoo! free web hosting which started in 1994 and one of the precursor of the idea of "free" webpage hosting will officially closed today, October 26. For those of us who are a web geek and 30 plus years, Geocities may probably the first free webhosting we have started. There is no denying that Geo is the Facebook/Twitter of its day. Surely, with blogspot, wordpress, etc, one may don't even care. But fact remains that Geocities is the first proof that you could have something really popular, useful and still not make any money on the internet.
