3rd Kolkata Open GM tournament Updates: IM Rolando Nolte boosts another GM-norm bid!

IM Rolando Nolte defended well with the black pieces to salvage a draw with GM R.B. Ramesh of India to share 12th to 22nd places in the third Kolkata Open GM tournament held at the Gorky Terrace here Friday.
Nolte, seeded 20th in the country with an ELO of 2412, improved his total to 3.5 points, a full point behind top seed Viktopr Laznicka of Czech Republic, Nguyen Anh Dung of Vietnam and Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh.
Another Filipino campaigner, IM Oliver Barbosa, also drew his match against IM Babu Sudhakar of India to remain in contention with three points.
A total of 113s from all over the world are seeing action in this tough, 10-round tournament organize by the Alekhine Chess Club in this 300-year-old city which once served as capital of British India. Read full story>>
