International Master Rolando Nolte hurdles his first two assignments in the 3rd Calcutta Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament in Calcutta, India. IM Nolte will next face tough Indian GM Das Neelotpal in round 3.
IM Chito Garma won against Rajpara Ankit of India in round 2 after a drawn round 1 game with Ananda Ghosh. IM Garma is set to play the 2007 World Junior Champ, Ahmed Adly of Egypt.
NM Barbosa made an upset draw against tournament top seed and India’s Super GM Krishnan Sasikiran (2677) in round 2 after demolishing Mishra Swayams of India. NM Barbosa is paired against FM Ahmed Minhazuddin of Bangladesh in round 3.
