GM Rogelio Antonio back again to his winning form as he trashed FM Dariousz Swiercz in 5th round of the 2008 Sydney International Open Chess Tournament in New South Wales, Australia.

But the star of the day goes to unheralded Filipino-Aussie, Raul Samar, after posting an upset win against GM Dejan Antic of Serbia.

Samar along with Antonio both has 4 points each going to the sixth round. Antonio and Samar will next face IM Anna Zozulia of Belgium and GM Daryl Johansen of Australia, respectively.

Homer Cunanan and Leo Daylo Jr. also back to winning column after posting separate wins in the tourney.

Other Pinoys are not lucky enough as NM Joseph De Ramos, Catherine Perena and Manan-og lost to their respective round 5 assignments while Sherily Cua halved point with Atanas Kizov of Macedonia.
