Antonio-Torre Game 3: Drawn

Threefold repetition without any threat of mate, may not be the most noblest of showing one's intention of peace over the board but nevertheless it's a silent, mutual draw. The ceasefire was agreed after Antonio moved his knight three times. In an obvious attempt by Antonio for a quick halt, Torre also didn't take much chances and accepted the offer. Antonio actually was a pawn up. The endgame saw Antonio with two rooks, a knight, a bishop and five pawns against Torre’s two rooks, knight, bishop and four pawns. Torre, however, had more active rook and knight on the fifth rank. Game 4 is scheduled on Monday, July 28, at the Tandang Sora Shrine in Quezon City with Torre handling the white pieces.
